Lower Chautauqua Neighborhood
The Chautauqua neighborhood is nestled at the foot of the iconic Boulder Flatirons, near Chautauqua Park and miles of hiking trails. The Lower Chautauqua neighborhood spans south of Baseline Road and east from the Chautauqua Park west to Broadway Street. The University of Colorado’s main campus is just a few blocks away. In addition to the Chautauqua Dining Hall restaurant at the park, there are several shops and restaurants located just down the street at the Basemar Shopping Center which includes; Whole Foods, Noodles, Brewing Market, Egg & I, Starbucks, Einstein’s bagels, Trek bike shop, and more.
It is well known that people who live in Colorado love the outdoors and love their dogs. In Boulder we do not refer to ourselves as “dog owners” we are “pet guardians.” And Chautauqua residents really love dogs who love to hike! Lucky for us the trails here are dog friendly, offering both on and off-leash areas. Trails are clearly marked to let you know when it’s okay to let your dog go off leash (as long as they have the proper Voice and Sound tag) and where dogs must always remain leashed. Leash laws vary by season so be sure to pay attention to the signs. During the hot summer days there are places where dogs can refresh in the creeks. Insider scoop – water is running all summer long in the creek that runs along the bike path near NIST (east side) as you head up the path to the Skunk Canyon trail head.
I am lucky to call the Chautauqua neighborhood my home and have intimate knowledge of the local real estate market and all of the wonderful amenities this community has to offer.
